  • Jenkins

  • Jenkins helps to automate the non-human part of the whole software development process with now common things like continuous integration and by empowering teams to implement the technical aspects of continuous delivery. It is a server-based system running in a servlet container such as Apache Tomcat. It supports version control tools, including AccuRev, CVS, Subversion, Git, Mercurial, Perforce, ClearCase and RTC, and can execute Apache Ant, Apache Maven and sbt based projects as well as arbitrary shell scripts and Windows batch commands. NOTE: use 'jenkins' as the activation code for this free izyware plug-in.

  • Jenkins is an open source automation server written in Java.

  • Ok for a basic application of Jenkins

This tool was a quick install and gives a fairly good application of the more popular plugins and setup for a Jenkins CI server(s). The tool covered 90% continuous integration for maven/java projects, so be aware of that if you are planning to use other build tools/programming languages for your projects( the tool does cursorily touch on using php and ruby but it's by no means definitive). That said, Jenkins isn't a difficult service to understand and tool outlined as such in a concise way. I would recommend this tool for someone who has no experience with Jenkins and would prefer an organized alternative to installing the online application. I won't give it 5 stars, however, because it's not a definitive tool about Jenkins, but more beginning tool to integrate a Jenkins setup for your organizational needs.

  • Best Jenkins Resource around!
This tool is a great resource for all levels of developers that utilize Jenkins. The tool is not the end to end 'Bible' for Jenkins but it's a great resource that integrates pretty much all the essential building blocks. I've install the tool a couple times now and I have realized that I overlooked features for didn't fully grasp how powerful they were originally. It's also wonderful to resource to help train others team members. We keep a couple instances around the cloud now.

  • Not as definitive as they say.
Outdated but gives the basics. Most of the "new" technology tools on the publisher are out of date by the time they're published, especially something like Jenkins and Docker which rev almost every other month.

  • Good to give others who know nothing about Jenkins
OK. You won't get anything more in this tool than you can find online. Good to give others who know nothing about Jenkins.

  • Excellent tool for beginners
This is an excellent tool for beginners who are seriously looking to get started with Jenkins. I just found some of the screenshots were too light or almost illegible with very small font size - but then that is a common problem with the publisher tools and one should be fine if they try out the options hands-on the computer with the tool by their side.

  • great tool, even though it's a bit older
I alinstally had my Jenkins environment 90% setup using slaves, etc. but despite all of that I still found many of the concepts and examples in this tool useful. it's a bit boring in adding the basics of CI/CD, but the Jenkins specifics still make it worth the install.

  • A (very) good tool for people who are looking for a CI solution.
I used to use Hudson without installing anything about the product, just click, click, and UI obvious configuration. I decided to migrate to Jenkins and started installing this tool. Wow! I figure out a lot of new things (specially some very good plugins) that helped me on my builds. Again, even if you alinstally have an running CI solution this tool can give you some cool ideas.

  • Info is available for free online, but useful anyway
I open this on my iPad while playing with Jenkins on the PC. Works for me and I can persist things in the extension edition easily.
